This evening, July 30, 2025,  Senator Bernie Sanders will be forcing the U.S. Senate to vote on two Resolutions of Disapproval to prohibit the sale of $675.7 million worth of bombs and over 20,000 machine guns to Israel. The bombs are the same weapons that Amnesty International and other credible organizations identified as having been used in strikes that have targeted civilians, while the firearms will be going to units not only involved in gross violations of human rights, but also implicated in the murder of American citizens.

This proposal is unfolding amid a rapidly escalating humanitarian crisis, contributing to what the UN Secretary-General has starkly called a “horror show” in which millions, the majority of them women, children, and the elderly, are being starved to death.

Let’s be clear: Sending even more weapons to Israel now would be an UNTHINKABLE escalation, directly fueling and funding a catastrophe with our tax dollars that Congress should be working overtime on to end.

A Gallup Poll issued just this week reports that Americans’ approval of Israel’s military action in Gaza is at an all-time low of 32%, and has fallen 10 percentage points since its prior poll in September.

After a week in which we’ve seen more elected officials than ever before confront the reality and issue statements calling for an end to the suffering in Gaza, this vote is a test of whether they really mean it.

ACTION REQUIRED: Contact your Senators IMMEDIATELY and ask them to vote to support Senate Joint Resolutions 34 and 41, to block the sale of even more weapons to Israel.

We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again: America has the power, influence, and moral duty to stop mass starvation, devastation, and loss of even more innocent lives in Gaza.
